Despite what many of us have been led to believe, properly caring for chickens is costly. Chickens are fragile and vulnerable beings who need proper predator proofed housing, nutritious food, and veterinary care when needed just like our dogs and cats do.

Why?

For an idea of the costs for us to care for the animals, here's a breakdown of our average costs per chicken:

  • Food and bedding: $400
  • Veterinary costs (for emergencies and preventative health care including hormonal implants): $1000
  • Structures (building, maintenance): $200
  • Staff: $300
  • Total annual expenses per chicken: $1900!

How it Works

Sponsor an animal yourself or sponsor as a gift & we’ll send you or the giftee a photo & bio of your sponsored animal. Sponsorship levels are as follows:
